What customers ask before signing the contract.
Should I switch to a variable-speed pump?
Yes if your current pump is single-speed and over 5 years old. Variable-speed pumps cut runtime electricity 70 to 80 percent, qualify for LADWP rebates, and pay back the upgrade in 18 to 30 months.
How long do heaters last?
Gas heaters: 8 to 12 years. Heat pumps: 12 to 15. Salt cells: 4 to 7 depending on bather load and chemistry. We carry the most common parts on the truck for in-warranty repairs.
Do you handle the LADWP rebate paperwork?
Yes. We pull the rebate forms, submit them on your behalf, and follow up until the credit lands. The rebate is yours; we never take a cut.
Can you install equipment I bought myself?
We can, though we will not warranty parts we did not source, and Pentair and Jandy require the equipment to be purchased through an authorized dealer for the manufacturer warranty to apply. We will tell you up front if a self-sourced unit will void that coverage.
How much space does a new equipment pad need?
A typical variable-speed pump, filter, heater, and salt cell setup needs roughly a 6-by-8-foot footprint with service clearance on each side. Tight pads are common in Los Angeles side yards, and we will design around what you have rather than requiring a rebuild.
Will a new pump or heater actually lower my utility bill?
Yes, meaningfully for pumps. A single-speed pump running 8 hours a day can cost $50 to $80 a month in electricity; a variable-speed pump running the same schedule at low RPM typically drops that to $15 to $25. Heater savings depend more on usage pattern than the unit itself.
Do you install salt systems on pools that currently use chlorine tablets?
Yes, this is one of our most common upgrade requests. The conversion involves adding a salt cell, dosing the pool with salt, and reprogramming the automation if one exists. Most conversions are a single-day install.
What happens to my old equipment?
We haul it away and dispose of it properly at no extra charge, included in the installation quote. If a component still has working life left, we will mention it in case you want to keep it as a spare rather than have us recycle it.
Is a permit required for equipment upgrades?
Straight swaps (pump-for-pump, heater-for-heater) usually do not require a permit. Adding new electrical circuits, gas lines, or automation wiring sometimes does depending on scope, and we will tell you before the quote if yours does.
