Common questions

What customers ask before signing the contract.

What grills do you install?

Lynx, Wolf, Bull, and Twin Eagles for premium builds. Blaze and Bull for value-oriented builds. We carry samples for each at the Sherman Oaks shop.

Do I need a gas line run?

For natural-gas grills, yes. We coordinate with the utility for the new line and pull the permits. For propane, the tank line is much simpler.

How close to the pool can the kitchen go?

Code minimum is 3 feet from waterline for cooking elements; we usually push to 6 to 8 feet for splash and ergonomic reasons. Final layout depends on the lot.

How much does a basic outdoor kitchen cost versus a full build-out?

A basic grill island with a countertop starts around $25,000. A full build-out with a fridge, sink, side burner, and premium stone countertops typically runs up to $45,000 depending on grill brand and finish selections.

Do you build under a covered structure or pergola too?

We build the kitchen structure and can coordinate a pergola or shade structure as part of the same project. Full roofed structures with electrical for fans or lighting are scoped and permitted alongside the kitchen build.

What countertop materials hold up best outdoors in LA?

Granite and porcelain slab both perform well against sun and heat without sealing maintenance. Quartz is not recommended outdoors since UV exposure can discolor the resin binder over time.

Can the kitchen run on the same gas line as a fire feature?

Often yes if the line is sized correctly for combined BTU load. We calculate total demand across the grill, side burner, and any fire features during design so the gas line and meter can support everything running at once.

Do outdoor refrigerators and ice makers need special wiring?

Outdoor-rated appliances need a dedicated GFCI-protected circuit, which we run as part of the electrical scope. Using an indoor-rated fridge outdoors voids its warranty and is not something we will install.

How long does a typical outdoor kitchen build take?

A grill island alone can be done in under 2 weeks. A full kitchen with utility runs, countertops, and appliance installation typically runs 3 to 7 weeks depending on permit timing and material lead time on countertops.
